Goal

To develop effective and confident communicators with an appreciation for language and a passion for discovery.

Key Programmes

  • Secondary 1 Storyteller Showcase: To provide students with the platform to engage in and build confidence in public speaking

  • Secondary 2 Speech and Drama Workshop Series: To develop students’ oracy skills through the use of Speech and Drama techniques and provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and speech and drama skills, in order to develop confident communicators

  • Secondary 3 Public Speaking Workshop Series: To develop students’ critical reasoning and persuasion skills in both oral communication and writing of argumentative essays

  • Secondary 4/5 Exam Skills Clinics and Consultations: To prepare students for the National Examination and equip them with the necessary skills and strategies

  • EL Reading Programme: To instil a love for reading in every student by providing them with the platform to engage in reading through a school-wide programme to help students develop a strong foundation in rich language and stay abreast of current news and trends.

Highlights / Achievements

  • KidsREAD: Our school collaborates with the National Library Board in this programme where 30 of our students volunteer weekly at Jiemin Primary School to read to the Lower Primary students in an effort to promote the love of reading and cultivate good reading habits among young Singaporeans.
