YSS40 Weave of Unity
YSS40 Weave of Unity Sets Singapore Book of Records
As part of the YSS40 celebrations, Yishun Secondary School marked a significant milestone on 5 March 2026 with the Weave of Unity event. Students, teachers and staff came together in a meaningful activity that symbolised the strength of the school community — each strand contributing to a stronger whole.
During the event, the YSS community successfully set a Singapore Book of Records achievement for the Most Number of People Weaving Paracord Keychains at the Same Time, with 1,151 participants. This accomplishment has been officially recognised on the Singapore Book of Records website, and can be viewed at:

The paracord keychain serves as a tangible representation of the school’s 40-year journey and achievements. Each knot in the weave symbolises significant milestones, successful cohorts and notable accomplishments in the school’s history. The vibrant colours of the paracord reflect the diverse talents and successes of students, staff and alumni. The national recognition of this achievement not only commemorates the scale of participation, but also affirms the unity, shared purpose and collective spirit that define the Yishun Secondary community. It stands as both a record-setting moment and a lasting testament to what can be achieved when the community comes together.
The event was a meaningful highlight of the YSS40 celebrations, bringing the school community together to honour its shared past while looking ahead with confidence to the future.
