Our Green Week @ YSS
Yishun Secondary School organised Our Green Week @ YSS, a school-wide initiative aimed at raising awareness, deepening appreciation, and inspiring action towards environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
Throughout the week, our Ecostewards took the lead in organising interactive educational booths and engaging activities to share their knowledge of environmental issues and sustainable living practices. Through hands-on upcycling workshops and other meaningful activities, Yishunites explored practical ways to reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect the environment. Beyond raising environmental awareness, Our Green Week @ YSS provided a valuable platform for students to develop leadership, communication and advocacy skills while encouraging their peers to adopt greener habits.

Our Green Day in the Community
Our Green Day in the Community, jointly organised by Yishun Secondary School and Nee Soon South Zone H Residents’ Network (RN), brought together schools, community partners, and residents to promote biodiversity, environmental sustainability and green living practices.
Supported by NEA, ALBA and neighbouring schools, the event featured interactive educational booths on e-waste, food waste, and upcycling, alongside activities such as the distribution of pre-loved clothing and freshly harvested vegetables from community and school gardens. The event fostered environmental awareness, strengthened community partnerships and encouraged residents to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Waterways Clean-Up at Marina Reservoir
As part of the school's efforts to provide authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom, our Ecostewards and Geography students participated in a Waterways Clean-Up at Marina Reservoir. Through this meaningful hands-on activity, our Yishunites gained a deeper appreciation of Singapore’s waterways and natural environment while developing a greater sense of environmental responsibility. The experience also empowered students to take an active role in protecting our waterways and contributing towards a cleaner and more sustainable Singapore.

Plastify for Teacher's Day!
Through the exciting Plastify initiative, our Yishunites gave discarded plastic bottle caps a second life by recycling and transforming them into creative, functional products as tokens of appreciation for their teachers. This hands-on experience allowed students to discover the possibilities of upcycling while learning about waste reduction and the importance of a circular economy.
