YSS is a School Football Academy under the Unleash The Roar programme! (https://www.unleashtheroar.com.sg)

In 2024, YSS will introduce a girls’ football for the incoming secondary one girls as part of this programme. This will be a cluster CCA for all girls from the N2 cluster.

Highlights / Achievements

• ‘B’ division boys qualified for NSG League 1 together with the top 16 schools in Singapore in 2023.

• Organised Yishun Invitational Football Carnival where opportunities were given for schools in our vicinity pitch their skills against each other. Our boys did us proud and clinched 1st place in 2023.

• In 2024, the ‘C’ division boys progressed to the semifinals of the League 4 NSG tournament and are promoted to League 3.

School Football Academy (SFA): Yishun Secondary School continues to be a part of the School Football Academy (SFA). The programme continues to focus on nurturing young players by providing them with the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches and equipping them with the necessary resources to succeed. This year marks an exciting development with the inclusion of the newly formed N2 Cluster Football Girls. Together, they have showcased their potential and talent which highlights the programme’s dedication to developing well-rounded athletes through various friendly matches and tournaments.

Direct School Admissions (DSA): Yishun Secondary School’s DSA (Football) programme is committed to blending football excellence with holistic development. It provides aspiring football talents with a unique opportunity to not only excel in their sport but also to grow as individuals, achieve academic success, and fulfil their true potential.

National School Games (NSG): Through NSG 2024, our teams not only honed their skills but also embodied the essence of teamwork and resilience. We are immensely proud of our ‘C’ boys, who fought their way to the League 4 semi-finals, displaying exceptional talent and determination every step of the way. Our football girls, participating in the NSG for the first time, captured our hearts with their tenacity and unwavering spirit, making a strong impression in their debut. The ‘B’ boys, too, stood out with their relentless perseverance, embodying the grit and pride that define our school’s sporting spirit.
